This is the first time in 5 years that the VCS Summer 2024 tournament returns to have live audiences after several seasons held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Players will experience the electric atmosphere of the tournament with cheers from over 2000 fans. This year, three teams: GAM Esports, Viking Esports, and Team Whales will compete to determine the champion and identify the two teams representing VCS Summer 2024 at the upcoming 2024 World Championship. Additionally, the highest-ranking team in this tournament, excluding invited teams, will secure a spot in the new LoL Esports tournament for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region happening in 2025.
With the message: “Forever We Stand”, the VCS Summer 2024 Finals is an occasion for the Vietnamese Esports community to honor the legacy built from the glorious past of the tournament and look toward a brighter, more glorious future on new journeys reaching out to the vast sea. The outstanding teams and talented young players will continue to inspire and extend the fiery spirit of VCS in international and regional LoL Esports arenas in the future.
The VCS Summer 2024 Finals will take place on August 17 and 18 at the Nguyen Du Stadium, 116 Nguyen Du Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.

During the two days of the VCS Summer 2024 Finals, the area outside Nguyen Du Stadium will offer VCS fans a series of lively experiences, including booths from sponsors, gaming booths, photo areas, and opportunities to interact with famous players and KOLs from the LoL community. Additionally, before the Grand Finals of VCS Summer 2024 takes place, there will be an opening ceremony promising to leave many memorable impressions for the more than 2000 audience members present.
“VCS has been on the rise, leaving more and more marks on the global LoL stage. Last weekend, the tournament set a new record for viewership. We thank the fans who have always shown deep concern for the VCS teams and players, and we also thank all the players in Vietnam who have consistently demonstrated their best performance, embodying the spirit of VCS.” – Laura Li, Regional eSports Director for Asia-Pacific at Riot Games.

With meticulous investment in organization and operation, the VCS Summer 2024 tournament has also contributed to the VCS continuing to be one of the leading models for Esports activities in Vietnam, while also enhancing and broadening the image of Esports to the public, helping the community gradually have a more open view and a correct understanding of Esports.
For Riot Games, the priority goal for the Asia-Pacific region is to continue developing Vietnam’s Esports market, bringing the best athletes and esports teams from Vietnam to international arenas, while seeking opportunities to bring the most exciting Esports tournaments to Vietnam.
“We hope that this VCS Summer 2024 Finals will mark a new beginning for Vietnamese Esports. Next year, we may see VCS representative teams competing with the best teams from across the Asia-Pacific region in a new playground. We also hope that in a few years, Esports will become the number one sport and entertainment category in Vietnam. Our players will have a large fan base worldwide, and the youth of Vietnam will find a new career path that makes their parents and themselves proud.” – Laura Li, Regional eSports Director for Asia-Pacific at Riot Games, added.

Through the collaboration to implement the LoL Esports plan for 2025, VNGGames and Riot Games aim to bring a League of Legends tournament on a scale across the Asia-Pacific region, gathering top teams from the region, including Vietnam. The goal of the tournament is to introduce a new inter-regional arena for the most talented players, offering diverse and spectacular matches and creating fresh competitive scenes. This will be one of the five highest-level tournaments in the near future. The tournament will feature a total of 8 teams, applying a promotion-relegation competition model.
The tournament will include 4 Partner teams to help the Organizing Committee establish standards for competitiveness and sustainable development. Additionally, there will be 4 Invited spots, with 2 based on performance after the summer tournaments, while the remaining 2 will be reserved for Special Invites, aiming to ensure diverse representation from across regions while maintaining a competitive environment.
“VNGGames has been our long-term partner in publishing and organizing Esports activities for Riot Games titles since 2020. Therefore, we are proud to continue our close partnership with VNGGames from 2025. VNGGames will continue to bring culturally rich League of Legends esports experiences to fans, including promoting the new APAC tournament to the community. VNGGames will also lead in delivering engaging content to meet the information and entertainment needs of the audience.” – Ban Chee, VCS Director, explained the reason for continuing the partnership with VNGGames.
