Gumayusi and Faker Lead a Historic MSI Record
MSI 2026 is just around the corner. With format changes and underwhelming performances in the 2026 LCK Rounds 1-2, T1 must start the tournament in the Play-in stage. However, T1 is expected to advance easily. MSI 2026 will also feature a tight race between Faker and Gumayusi in a key category: total kills.

Specifically, with one of the longest professional LoL careers, Faker holds the record for most kills in MSI history with a total of 531. Right behind him is his junior and former teammate Gumayusi, with 393 kills. The HLE ADC also maintains a comfortable lead over third place Caps, who has 383 kills.

But It Will Be Difficult for Gumayusi to Surpass Faker
Naturally, as an ADC, Gumayusi is expected to keep pace or even surpass Faker. However, breaking or even matching the veteran’s record at MSI 2026 will be challenging, especially since Faker himself will increase his tally during the tournament matches. Moreover, Faker will compete in the Play-in stage, starting at least three BO5 series earlier than Gumayusi.

Additionally, although Gumayusi is an ADC, within HLE’s team structure, he isn’t always the one with the most kills; sometimes the 2025 World Championship Finals MVP takes a more supportive damage role for teammates. Furthermore, while high kill counts are important for both Gumayusi and Faker, the ultimate goal remains the victory of HLE or T1.
