T1 Sparks Controversy with Move Related to Faker
As is well known, despite being the G.O.A.T of the LoL scene and forcing even the most critical viewers to acknowledge his undeniable influence, Faker still has antifan. Even within the professional circle, there are figures who do not fully accept Faker and occasionally produce content with biases or negative opinions towards him. A notable example is LS – former caster and ex-C9 coach. What’s striking is that recently, he was signed by T1 itself.

This immediately ignited debates within the fan community of the team, especially among Faker’s supporters. For those following professional LoL regularly, especially T1, LS is a name that often generates controversy. In 2020, during what was jokingly called T1’s “empty century,” LS ranked Faker as low as tier B or C, below a wave of rising young midlaners like ShowMaker, Chovy, and Bdd.

Additionally, during his livestreams of T1 matches, LS frequently criticized the team’s draft choices. For example, in 2023, he voiced negative opinions about Keria’s choice of Forgotten Rune – Chemical Burn in the match against Fredit BRION. However, T1 still won the game, and LS faced severe backlash from the community. At that time, T1 was considered a “meta-breaking” team, so their picks could not be judged purely from a theoretical standpoint.

But Nothing Seems to Change T1’s Decision
With the announcement of LS’s recruitment, nothing appears capable of changing T1 leadership’s decision. Historically, T1 has often made controversial choices. However, the fan community’s frustration seems limited, since Faker’s position is simply “untouchable” at this point.
