One of the Fastest Matches in LMHT History
Currently, alongside nations that have finalized their teams long ago, some regions still require qualifiers in various formats (usually online) to select their final representatives. Because this tournament is regarded as the “World Cup of Esports” and offers a significant prize pool, many countries have formed teams to participate. However, the quality gap has resulted in some laughably one-sided matches, exemplified by the match between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Morocco.

The match between these two countries’ LMHT teams lasted just over 13 minutes, with a total of 41 kills, 40 of which belonged to the Moroccan team. In fact, the match ended even sooner than the standard “fast finish” time allowed in a typical game.
Initial statistics show this ranked match is the 15th fastest finish in LMHT’s professional history since the competitive scene began. However, in some other statistics, this match ranks 5th fastest after excluding games where one side used the “fast finish” function. There was a time when professional matches allowed the surrender option during play, unlike now where players must fight until the Nexus explodes.

But It Also Reveals a Reality About LMHT
The result of this match provides an interesting statistic but also highlights a reality: beyond the familiar regions, in less established countries, LMHT and esports generally have not yet developed strongly enough. Of course, these issues stem from reasons like levels of interest and investment, so it’s not necessarily something Riot needs to address immediately.
