After their victory against Saigon Buffalo, T1 faced off against a contender for the MSI 2022 championship – Royal Never Give Up. The “Royal Legion” was in good form, both teams having the same record of 2 wins and 1 loss leading into this match. The reason being, their previous opponent, G2 Esports, is currently very strong. Otherwise, RNG faced no difficulties in their journey leading up to the match against T1.

RNG will face T1 in the LPL – LCK showdown

And the LPL – LCK showdown unfolded just as the audience expected. Both teams delivered a thrilling performance. T1 had a strong split-pushing composition and operated independently, making for a perfect early to mid-game. In fact, RNG’s player Bin could hardly play as he was continuously attacked by Oner and Zeus. Additionally, Faker showcased his extensive experience, reading situations well and guiding his younger teammates through what could be described as a “dream” start.

However, as members of RNG, especially GALA, not only avoided being taken down but also secured many kills, the game slowly slipped away from T1’s grasp. The outcome was perhaps predictable as GALA obliterated Faker and his teammates. The LPL – LCK showdown concluded with T1 suffering yet another defeat against a direct rival for the MSI 2022 championship.

Alongside the admiration for the performances of RNG players, Keria’s statements were also brought up as a target for criticism by the LMHT community. For those who may not know, after the loss to G2, Keria confidently claimed that it would be the last time T1 would lose: “We will finish the Rumble Stage with a record of 9 wins – 1 loss.”

Keria in the near future: 'We will achieve an 8-2 record. What I felt in the matches against G2 and RNG, if we meet them again, we will beat them. I am confident I will not lose again. I know we lost, and many will not believe me when I say this, but I recognized my gameplay in the two games against G2 and RNG, and I'm confident I won't give them another chance.'

T1 has once again suffered a loss in the same way they did against G2: leading in the early and mid-game but gradually losing ground as the opponent began to acquire full items and reach their power spike. Nonetheless, T1’s chances of making it into the top 4 remain bright, and surely their fans hope that Faker and his teammates will soon return to the form that led them to win the LCK Spring 2022 championship.
