Recently, GAM and SGB are the two representatives from Vietnam (VCS) that have tickets to participate in Worlds 2022 (USA) – the biggest tournament of the year for League of Legends. After 3 years of not participating in major events due to the pandemic, the return of VCS to this large stage has excited the domestic esports fans. However, the age-old problem of Vietnamese teams – visa applications has once again reappeared.
According to the latest information, the GAM Esports team has been denied visas for some members to travel to the U.S. Therefore, they will have to wait at least 14 days to continue the visa interview process in the next session.

On the esports homepage lolesportsmedia, Riot Games has posted a statement that it will provide maximum support for GAM Esports’ visa issues as well as other teams in the VCS. Specifically, Riot stated: “We have been working with government representatives regarding the visa applications for the VCS region and we still hope that the reigning VCS champions – GAM, will be able to attend this year’s Worlds.”
It is known that GAM and Riot Games will have a meeting on this issue on September 12 to resolve the visa situation.

Meanwhile, another name from Vietnam that also has a ticket to Worlds 2022 is SGB, which has not yet gone for a visa interview to the U.S. and Mexico. But with Riot Games’ commitment to maximum support, the gaming community can rest assured that League of Legends Vietnam will be able to return to the biggest stage.
