As we know, due to the complex developments of the pandemic, the teams participating in Worlds 2021 generally do not venture outside to ensure the safety of their team members. Therefore, they can only stay in the hotel and train for the upcoming Worlds 2021. However, for the two teams Rogue and MAD Lions, practicing has proven to be extremely difficult.

According to the shares from the Rogue and MAD Lions players, the hotel where they are staying often experiences internet and power outages. Player Humanoid and Larssen even joked that they are looking for scrim matches in League of Legends: Wild Rift because they have no internet to play League of Legends. Meanwhile, Rogue’s top laner – Odoamne has continuously tagged Riot Games support to voice this issue but has not received any response.

MAD Humanoid: “I’m looking for scrim matches in League of Legends: Wild Rift. I can only use mobile data and of course, there’s no wifi.”
RGE Larssen: “We’re participating in Worlds in League of Legends: Wild Rift, my friend.”

MAD Elyoya: “Wow, I lost power 4 times in 2 days.”

RGE Odoamne: “It’s fantastic to practice daily by watching streams with hotel wifi. Hey Riot Support, our group is really tough so it would be great to have internet for training. There’s really nothing more annoying than losing power in the middle of a scrim.”
Indeed, for regular gamers like us, suddenly losing internet or power when trying to play League of Legends is already very frustrating. For players about to participate in Worlds 2021 (in this case, the Rogue and MAD Lions teams), this can create extremely negative psychological effects and impact their performance.

For Rogue, they find themselves in a very tough group facing teams like DWG KIA and FunPlus Phoenix. If they cannot find a special playstyle and practice it thoroughly, Rogue’s chances of scoring in this group are extremely low. As for MAD Lions, their group is somewhat easier, but names like Gen.G, Team Liquid, and likely LNG Esports are certainly no pushovers. The lack of optimal training conditions could very well lead to MAD being eliminated early.

It is thought that Riot Games needs to quickly implement measures to ensure that all teams have the best training conditions. It would be a shame if the biggest tournament of the year for League of Legends encounters such avoidable issues in its organization.
