Faker’s return to the World Championship has always been a hot topic within the global League of Legends community. And on the occasion of the “king’s” return to his beloved arena, numerous pieces of content related to Faker have been created to celebrate this event.
Recently, TusiN – a former Korean League of Legends player, participated in an online talk show on the Afreeca platform, where he had the opportunity to share his feelings about Faker, as a colleague, as well as to evaluate the stature and influence of T1’s captain on the LCK tournament:

“We respect Faker’s presence in this tournament.
The fact is that his fame doesn’t annoy us at all; in fact, we (the LCK players) are grateful for it.
To be honest, isn’t it something truly admirable that Faker has stayed in the LCK until now? He is the pride of Korean League of Legends. If Faker wanted to earn money, he could make ten times what he does now, but he has given up such opportunities to stay with Korean League of Legends, and that’s why we should thank him. Faker had the chance to go abroad, but he has never left here.”
Another guest on this talk show, the former support of ROX Tigers – GorillA, also agreed with TusiN: “He truly is a legend; thanks to Faker, the League of Legends market here (in Korea) has developed as robustly as it is now.”
TusiN: “Exactly, so from the perspective of a professional player, we genuinely thank Faker for that (staying with the LCK).”

According to TusiN, Faker’s commitment to T1 not only benefits this team but also carries extremely positive implications for the entire Korean League of Legends tournament. Just imagine if Faker left the LCK; it would create a crisis effect similar to Lionel Messi leaving Barcelona. Not only Barca but the entire La Liga tournament was affected by Messi’s departure.
Faker is a similar case; when the G.O.A.T (Greatest of All Time) is no longer in the LCK, this tournament will lose a huge audience. That’s the concerning prospect, but in reality, it has been proven that it was from SKT T1’s 2013 World Championship victory that the Korean Esports scene began to focus all its efforts on developing and professionalizing League of Legends. In other words, Faker is not just the face of the tournament, but also one of the key factors that has driven the development of the LCK from the past to the present. Therefore, what TusiN shared about every Korean League of Legends player being “grateful” to Faker is truly not an exaggeration at all.
