GAM Perfectly Advances to the Swiss Stage of the 2024 Worlds
Ahead of the 2024 Worlds tournament, GAM Esports was expected to face many challenges as their group included unpredictable opponents such as 100 Thieves from LCS and Movistar R7 – a team with a storied rivalry against GAM. However, GAM’s flawless debut against Fukuoka SoftBank HAWKS Gaming instilled confidence in VCS fans. Particularly, the trust grew stronger when R7 defeated 100T, allowing GAM to avoid the North American representative in the deciding match of the Play-In stage.

Not missing the opportunity, GAM played focused and completely dominated R7 in the match just a few moments ago. With a tidy 2-0 victory, GAM became the second team from the Play-In stage and the first team from VCS to enter the Swiss round. More impressively, GAM is the only team to have won all 2 BO3 matches in the Play-In stage before securing a spot in the Swiss round. This can be considered a remarkable improvement for the reigning VCS champions.

VCS Fans Erupt, GAM Also “Helps” VKE at the 2024 Worlds
GAM’s victory left VCS fans ecstatic as League of Legends Vietnam ensured at least one spot in the Swiss round. Furthermore, with their soaring performance, GAM’s players may go even further. Additionally, GAM’s win over R7 also “helped” VKE as SofM’s squad only has to face 2 wildcard teams to secure a ticket to the Swiss round. The first opponent will be the CBLOL representative – PaiN Gaming.

Of course, VKE will also need to play even more focused and strive harder than their debut match against MAD Lions KOI. The dream of having both VCS representatives at the Main Event of a Worlds tournament for the first time is entirely feasible, considering the current status of VKE’s opponents as well as their past. GAM has accomplished their mission excellently, and with GAM having called, the League of Legends community in Vietnam is certainly hoping that VKE will respond.
