Kiaya Shares About the “VCS Incident” After GAM’s Perfect Play-in Stage at Worlds 2024
At this moment, VCS fans can finally feel at ease knowing that at least one team representing Vietnamese League of Legends has made it to the Swiss stage of Worlds 2024. GAM Esports did not disappoint their home fans, sweeping through both Play-in matches with a perfect 2-0 scoreline, gracefully advancing through this stage in the best way possible. Throughout the past matches, Kiaya has remained a standout performer. Notably, he became the first player to break the 0% win rate of the champion Rumble after securing a victory against Movistar R7.

In a post-match interview after GAM’s final game in the Play-in stage, Kiaya also shared his thoughts on the incident in VCS earlier this year: “Over the past year, VCS has truly gone through a lot. But for me, this has helped create a genuinely healthy environment for VCS. At the same time, these incidents have also provided GAM with additional motivation to strive at Worlds this time, to bring joy to VCS fans.”

Kiaya Reveals His Most Desired Opponent in the Swiss Stage of Worlds 2024
Additionally, GAM’s top laner revealed the opponent he most wants to face at Worlds 2024. Specifically, Kiaya stated that it is Fnatic: “Personally, I want to face Fnatic the most so I can avenge our loss against this team last year.” At Worlds 2023, FNC did not give the VCS representative any opportunities. Although the LEC team was not particularly outstanding, they played much more cohesively and demonstrated significantly higher skills than the players from VCS, completely dominating GAM when the two teams faced off.

The Swiss stage will bring together the strongest names from each region, and there will surely be no easy matches for any team. However, with GAM’s current form, there is still a chance to reach at least the top 8, if Kiaya and his teammates maintain their focus and perform as well as they did against SHG and R7 recently.
