At the end of VCS Spring 2021, Luxury Esports (formerly GMedia Luxury) and Burst The Sky Esports were the two teams that finished the season in the 7-8 positions and had to participate in the VCS Summer 2021 Promotion Stage.
In addition to facing the tense relegation battle, both BTS and LX also suffered personnel losses. LX lost the services of coach Tear due to a two-year ban for participating in betting, while on the BTS side, key ADC BigKoro also did not participate in the Promotion Stage. According to internal sources, BigKoro has parted ways with BTS and is preparing to return to Saigon Buffalo in a coaching role.
However, the lack of personnel did not hinder the two representatives of VCS, as they still demonstrated overwhelming superiority in skill compared to the VCSB teams.

In the first set of matches, both BTS and LX easily achieved a flawless 3-0 victory against BOX Gaming and Genius Esports to advance to the Winners’ Final. In this match, Luxury decimated Burst The Sky and became the first team to secure a spot in the VCS Summer 2021 from the Promotion Stage.
Meanwhile, the defeat to LX only delayed BTS’s return to VCS by one day. In the Losers’ Final, BTS once again defeated BOX to claim the remaining slot.

With this result, the initial eight teams participating in VCS Summer 2021 have been determined. However, this list may still change, as some esports organizations may transfer their competition slots during the summer transfer period.
