Since the start of VCS Spring 2022, CERBERUS Esports has faced numerous difficulties due to personnel issues. Specifically, during the Lunar New Year break in 2022, EGO got into serious trouble with former SBTC Esports star – Zeros. From being the top choice for the jungle position, EGO was removed from the lineup of the reigning VCS Winter 2021 champions before entering the new season.

With the absence of their top jungler, CES had to bring in substitute player Phuc1 to replace EGO. While it is undeniable that Phuc1 is becoming a more mature player, he still lacks what is called “champion mentality” compared to EGO. This is also what CES is currently missing, and this weakness has become apparent in major matches against strong opponents, notably GAM Esports.
Remember that in VCS Winter 2021, CES defeated GAM in all three encounters and secured the championship convincingly. But with the same lineup, only changing the jungler from EGO, CES appeared to “reveal their true colors” against GAM. In the match against their arch-rival last night, specifically in game 2, CES led significantly in kills but failed to increase their economic and resource lead. As a result, CES allowed GAM to successfully “turn the tables” in a game where everyone thought “Thần Khuyển” was sure to win.
Witnessing CES lose to GAM every time since VCS Spring 2022 and the SEA Games 31 qualifiers for League of Legends, fans of “Thần Khuyển” cannot help but feel worried. Many have suggested bringing EGO back, especially as the second round of matches has officially begun.

However, there are still no signs from CES or player EGO indicating that this jungler will make a comeback anytime soon. CES’s current situation is very critical, and EGO’s return may not necessarily help “Thần Khuyển” solve their issues. But undoubtedly, with his experience and mentality, EGO will always be a quality option for CES in critical matches.
