In the recent LCK Spring 2022, T1 was the team with the most impressive performance, achieving a perfect streak of 18 consecutive wins. This is also the first team in the history of League of Legends to have the most flawless group stage with such a long winning streak. In the context of the 4 major leagues in the League of Legends scene this Spring, T1 has consistently ranked highest.

On their journey, Faker and his teammates defeated several tough opponents. First was the defending LCK 2021 champion – DWG KIA. Following that were convincing wins against DRX and Nongshim RedForce – teams that invested heavily in player acquisitions during the 2021 offseason. It’s unfortunate that the two clashes with Gen.G Esports – the team considered the most worthy rival to T1 this season – lost some excitement due to the impact of COVID-19.
With such impressive form, Faker and his teammates were naturally selected by experts and LCK players to be part of the all-star lineup of the group stage. Among them, 4 out of 5 names in the first all-star lineup are T1 members, including Zeus (Top Lane), Faker (Mid Lane), and the bot duo Gumayusi – Keria.

The only member of the first all-star lineup not from T1 is Canyon – the jungler from DK. This is understandable as Canyon had an incredibly impressive Spring 2022. One could say that after Chovy no longer “carried” Hanwha Life Esports, the new “golden backbone” of the LCK is Canyon. Meanwhile, T1’s jungler Oner dropped to the second all-star lineup alongside Rascal, Chovy, Ruler, and BeryL.

Canyon and Keria were also chosen for the two positions of the best players in the tournament. Specifically, Canyon was voted MVP of the tournament with a record MVP score of 1600 points – the highest MVP score a player can achieve during the group stage in LCK history. Meanwhile, Keria was selected as the tournament’s best player based on votes from other players and coaches. Keria is also the first support and the first bot lane player in LCK history to earn this title.

It can be said that this is a season of great victory for T1. Of course, Faker and his teammates aim for the LCK Spring 2022 championship, and further down the line, MSI, Summer, and the World Championship 2022. But with what they have achieved, this could be a significant morale boost for T1 as they head into the tense playoff matches ahead.
