Zeus holds a career achievement that Faker may never accomplish
As reported on May 18 (Vietnam time), KeSPA finalized the roster for the South Korean League of Legends team at the upcoming ASIAD 2026 in Japan. The list includes 6 players: Zeus – Canyon – Faker/Zeka – Gumayusi – Keria. These names have sparked a worldwide stir and many debates in the LoL community. Specifically for Zeus, the Top Laner has set a record even Faker can’t match: participating in ASIAD with two different club jerseys.

Since Esports, especially League of Legends, officially became a medal event at ASIAD, Zeus is the first and only LoL player so far to compete in this tournament while representing two different teams, T1 and HLE. Notably, despite some fluctuations in form, his consistency has been nearly flawless. Moreover, both of his ASIAD call-ups came during his peak performance periods.

In the 2026 LCK Rounds 1-2, Zeus’s performance—regardless of champion choice—has helped HLE soar in the standings. Even when playing a “pure tank” champion like Sion, Zeus maintained an impressive KDA and completely shut down Siwoo during HLE’s recent match against DK.

Zeus is one of the least controversial picks
Among the positions, Zeus is one of the least debated picks. Although Gen.G’s Kiin has carried several games this season, overall Zeus edges him out slightly in both achievements and head-to-head performance. With Zeus continuing to be a key player, the South Korean LoL team’s Top Laner is among the highest-quality toplaners in the scene as they aim for success at the upcoming ASIAD.
