In a match on the second day of week 5 of PCS Summer 2021, PSG Talon – the reigning champions of League of Legends in the Pacific region faced off against Impunity, a team at the bottom of the standings fighting for the last playoff spot (PCS has 10 teams but takes 8 to playoffs).
Although PSG had already secured the top spot, while their opponent needed points to keep hopes alive, the determination of IMP was no match for the massive skill gap. They were swiftly defeated by PSG in less than 29 minutes, with a gold difference exceeding 15,000.
A notable highlight of this match was when PSG’s support player, Kaiwing, shocked everyone by purchasing Mejai’s Soulstealer for Alistar. After consistently ‘stealing’ kills from the ADC and boasting a KDA of 2/0/1, Kaiwing immediately bought the Dark Seal and then upgraded to Mejai’s, a move showcasing his immense confidence in securing an easy victory against IMP.
Another reason for Kaiwing’s bold choice of this “gamble your fate” item was that IMP opted for a lineup that seemed like they “didn’t want to win”, as there were no primary marksmen, and the role of the bot lane carry was given to Seraphine – a champion that is incredibly fragile and lacks stable damage over time.

In reality, PSG Talon easily triumphed over their opponents, just as Kaiwing had calculated, even though his Mejai’s Soulstealer turned out to be somewhat “useless” as Alistar went down a few times and couldn’t stack too many points.
To elaborate on PSG’s dominance, after defeating IMP, they went on to secure another victory against Berjaya Dragons, completing their group stage with an unbeaten record, becoming the only team in the five major regions to maintain an undefeated streak up to this point.
Nearly two months ago, PSG also brought pride to the PCS region with an unexpectedly successful MSI 2021, finishing in the top 4. Unless a major upset occurs, PSG Talon is set to continue dominating the Pacific region in the final stages of 2021.
