The 5.5 season of Teamfight Tactics has recently kicked off, bringing in many new champions, most notably the Light Brigade (excluding Riven (Sentinel) and Vayne (Doom)). This trait is considered quite strong and contributes to the revival of many metas that seemed to have “faded into the past” after the conclusion of season 5, such as Assassin, Legion – Sentinel, and Warrior…
However, recently, TFT players have discovered that Pyke – the new Light/Assassin champion introduced in season 5.5, has a “bug” or a very strange mechanism. This champion, who possesses the spell Phantom Current, which deals magic damage, seemingly does not interact with other items that enhance magic damage in the game.

Other players also confirmed this, noting that even when leveling Pyke to 3 stars and equipping him with a Rabadon’s Deathcap, there was still no effect.

However, some players later suggested that Pyke in patch 5.5 is more oriented towards disruption and control; therefore, this champion should not be built with AP items but rather with mana regeneration and items that enhance his durability. Good items for this champion might include Spear of Shojin, Warmog’s Armor, or Sunfire Cloak, or even just a Morellonomicon would suffice. Additionally, similar to some other champions, Pyke would also be effective with the Glove of Precision.

However, in TFT, it is almost unheard of for any champion to only be built in a single direction, so the explanation from some experienced Pyke players hasn’t convinced many. It remains unclear whether this is a special mechanism exclusive to this Brigade champion or yet another serious bug that Riot has introduced to TFT.
