Last night, the champions of the Spring Split in Europe and North America were determined. The number one team from the Old Continent is none other than the familiar name G2 Esports, while in the land of the stars and stripes, Cloud 9, with a consistent performance, defeated Fly Quest and convincingly took the championship title. So after VCS with Team Flash, the next two representatives competing at MSI have been confirmed; we just need to wait for Korea and China now.

Setting aside MSI for now, currently, all major League of Legends tournaments are being held online, including the commentators who have to work from home for reasons we all know. The finals are no exception, except that the championship trophy will be sent urgently to the winning team so they can maintain the excitement of their hard-fought victory.
There wouldn’t be anything noteworthy if the trophy celebration style of the two aforementioned Western teams wasn’t so “comedic”. First, with Cloud 9, perhaps overwhelmed with joy and wanting to celebrate as if on a real stage, the members of this team raised the trophy too high, causing it to hit the ceiling and shatter into pieces. Indeed, “Clown 9”, even in celebration, they have to clown around.

On the other side of the Atlantic, where G2 Esports claimed the European championship, luckily there was no trophy smashing like Cloud 9; instead, they showcased their tradition of “tooting their own horn”. First, there was a meme cosplay of the “black man carrying a coffin” that has been trending lately, and of course, their victim would be Fnatic.
As for G2 Esports’ championship celebration, unfortunately, it did not happen as Wunder hugged the trophy and rushed straight to his room to play…. World of Warcraft. It’s unclear whether it was serious or a joke when some people suggested that the biggest motivation for Wunder to play like a god and crush Fnatic 3-0 was to make it in time for the Zul’Gurub raid at 8 PM (a dungeon run in WoW) while the finals took place at 5 PM (European time).

While Western teams are “comedic” in different ways, in Vietnam, Team Flash seems to not have received the VCS championship trophy yet, as this team only has “tooted their own horn” on social media. However, with their very G2 Esports communication style, we can hope that Team Flash will have an impressive celebration when they receive the upcoming VCS trophy.
