GAM’s Greatest Strength May Have Become Its “Achilles’ Heel”
Recently, GAM Esports faced another defeat against CBTC Flying Oyster. Setting aside the first game where a bug affected both teams’ performances (CFO was already dominating), the second game was truly a one-sided affair for the PCS representative. Notably, in this match, GAM’s playstyle and their most skilled players were completely neutralized, if not turned into an “Achilles’ heel.”

Specifically, the strategy GAM applied in the match was lane-switching. However, after choosing Kiaya with fighter champions, meaning they did not require too many resources or could accept being pressured in some phases, they still did not provide the necessary “care” for Artemis. The gameplay continued to revolve around Kiaya – Levi as usual, leading to Artemis also becoming “harmless” due to a lack of resources compared to Doggo from CFO.

After GAM’s loss, many viewers expressed their confusion. Because GAM played around the top lane but still used Artemis. However, when they utilized Artemis, they made it impossible for this player to perform his natural gameplay due to a lack of resources. As a result, both sides of GAM lacked effectiveness, as the opponents were already too familiar with the VCS representative’s playstyle.

GAM Continues to Find Themselves with No Way Out
Once again at LCP 2025, GAM finds themselves in a crucial situation. But this time, their opponent is no longer the familiar TSW, but TALON – a representative that is showing they are much stronger than TSW. However, opportunities for GAM do exist. The only caveat is that if they continue to perform as they did in the recent match against CFO, the door for the VCS representative will be extremely narrow.

Initially expected to be the “flagship” of VCS, GAM’s struggles are clearly disappointing VCS fans. Nevertheless, GAM tends to perform their best when they are under pressure. Therefore, VCS viewers may still have faith that Levi and his teammates can rectify their mistakes and continue their journey at the LCP Kickoffs 2025.
