A Challenging Week Awaits HLE and T1 in LCK 2026 Rounds 1-2
With about three weeks left, the group stage of LCK 2026 Rounds 1-2 is nearing its conclusion and the advancing teams will soon be decided. Currently, HLE is the only team guaranteed a spot on the Road to MSI after an undefeated streak since their first-round loss to T1. However, both HLE and T1 face a very difficult seventh week as they must confront direct rivals competing for each spot on the leaderboard.
Specifically, HLE will face DK and KT — two teams not currently stronger than HLE in terms of player skill or form, but known for causing upsets. Both KT and DK have been on a downward trend with losses against teams considered weaker. However, HLE cannot afford to be complacent. Remember, KT is still aiming to claim second place from Gen.G, while DK hopes to secure a good ranking before entering the Road to MSI 2026.
Meanwhile, T1 will face their toughest opponent — Gen.G. The two teams will clash in a “do-or-die” match competing for second place. If T1 wins, Gen.G will almost have no chance to take the top spot from HLE (assuming HLE wins both matches against DK and KT). Conversely, Gen.G will virtually secure at least second place after the group stage ends. For Gen.G, the match against T1 will also be their toughest challenge this week.
