In Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Season 9, one of the new features that has been warmly received by the community is the selection of Legends. To summarize this feature, players will be able to choose special champions. Each champion has its own mechanism to enhance the player’s power. For example, Ornn will provide items, or Lee Sin will offer the ability to change the Shop,… This feature forces players to think more to choose the most effective Legend for different play styles.
However, amidst countless new Legends with superior power capable of changing the course of the game, it has recently been reported that the most selected Legend by pros is actually the Poro Legend. This is quite surprising information for the TFT player community as the Poro Legend does not provide any effects at all. In fact, the choice of Poro is even more popular than Twisted Fate (considered the strongest Legend at the moment) or Ornn (who provides a lot of items).
The explanation for this could stem from the fact that Poro… does nothing at all. When it does not provide any special effects, Poro will not affect the player’s choice of Tech Augments. Many players have complained that not all augments from Legends fit their intended play style. This has made Poro seem more useful.
Furthermore, for long-time and experienced players, they know when to choose a Legend that provides effects and when not to. Every TFT match has an element of luck. But skilled players will always have strategies in mind before officially entering the match. Therefore, they also do not want any factors that might affect their calculations.
Besides Poro, Twisted Fate is the second most favored Legend. And even the pros admit that Twisted Fate, with its mechanism of always providing standard items, is a very frightening option, and Riot may need to nerf this Legend in some upcoming updates.
