A few days ago, a member of the TFT Season 12 design team – Riot Iniko, had a noteworthy livestream aimed at explaining the champions, traits, and classes set to debut. Notably, Riot Iniko revealed that the Mystic trait is one of the strongest factions in the upcoming season. He rated Mystic at tier S (very strong), on par with highly regarded traits like Honey Bee and Sorcery in TFT Season 12.

The Strength of the Mystic Trait
The first advantage of this trait is its champions being spread across all price points, making it easier for players to build their teams. Moreover, even in the early stages of the game, this trait has access to ranged damage dealers (Zoe), melee fighters (Jayce, Kassadin), and tanks (Galio). This allows players to quickly adapt to any developments in the match, utilize various items, and gain a significant advantage early on.

Not stopping there, the effects of the Mystic trait also add many elements such as damage, attack speed buffs, and healing… These are all useful effects that help the entire team sustain fights and deal significantly more damage. Combined with the variety in damage dealers and team composition strategies, the Mystic trait has virtually no hard counters in Season 12.

Building a Mystic Team
In the early game, players should aim for the 3 Mystic trait as soon as possible with Zoe, Jayce combined with Galio or Kassadin. At level 5, players can look to add champions like Ahri (Scholar), Elise (Shape Shifter), or Blitzcrank (Frontline) to increase damage or tankiness. The goal during this stage is always to maintain as much health and gold as possible.

By mid-game, players can shift to using Ezreal as a primary damage dealer if they receive many critical strike and attack speed items. If not, players should continue to play around the primary damage dealer from the early game to ensure maximum health. Rerolling at this stage is highly discouraged as the chances of obtaining both Ryze and Taric to activate the 6 Mystic trait is very low.

After reaching level 8, players will use gold to search for Ryze and Taric to aim for the 6 Mystic trait. The advice at this stage is for players to look for ways to activate both the 2 Frontline (Galio) and Guardian (Taric) traits. One downside when playing a 6 Mystic team or more is the lack of tank champions. Therefore, supplementing with resilient units in the frontline like Shen, Tahm Kench… is crucial.

Some Tips When Using the Mystic Team
Besides using Galio in the frontline tank position, players can also push this unit to become a primary damage dealer if they have a Hero Augment. In the case of obtaining the Mystic Emblem, players should combine this team with Spirit champions. This is because players can activate many strong traits at level 8 like Frontline (Lillia), Gunner (Tristana), and Shape Shifter (Neeko) while still ensuring the 6 Mystic trait. This is a great condition to aim for level 9 and the powerful 8 Mystic trait.
