Unlike the control-focused design of previous seasons, the Frostbite trait in TFT Season 12 provided by Riot features a significant amount of AD and AP. Moreover, this trait is blessed by Riot Games with a powerful carry named Olaf in the new season. This unit not only deals massive damage but also possesses an incredibly strong innate survivability.

Overview of the Olaf – Frostbite Team Composition

The effect of the Frostbite trait in Season 12 will have a very powerful “snowball” nature. Specifically, when a certain number of enemy champions are defeated, they will create Frostbite warriors that can attract enemies. This allows the Frostbite team to overwhelm opponents in terms of numbers to secure victory, provided they have enough damage when the round begins.

Olaf is designed with this purpose in mind as he also possesses the ability to jump to enemies after securing a takedown and has a strong “snowball” effect. Furthermore, Olaf’s abilities help him boost attack speed, restore health, and be immune to crowd control. Consequently, Olaf will have excellent survivability along with massive damage output when he has the right items.

Building the Olaf – Frostbite Team Composition

Players should start with affordable yet quality Frostbite units like Warwick and Twitch during the rounds with monsters. Next, units like Kog’Maw and Blitzcrank should be added to activate the 2 Hunter and 2 Vanguard bonus. At level 5, Nunu is a good choice to complete the 3 Honey Bee bonus and significantly increase damage output.

In the mid-game phase, players should add Zilean to activate the 3 Frostbite bonus. Another frontline unit should also be added to enhance survivability. Hecarim or Shen will be reasonable choices in the mid-game as these units are moderately priced at 3 gold and can easily be upgraded to 2 stars.

Moving into the late game, players can add Nasus and Swain to the frontline to take advantage of the 2 Transform bonus. A Protect unit like Bard is also a good choice to pair with Zilean to enhance the team’s healing capabilities. Of course, players should prioritize finding a 2-star Olaf at this stage to ensure a solid damage output.

Some Tips When Using the Olaf – Frostbite Team Composition

The Green Bow is one of the essential items when building this team composition to increase Olaf’s damage. Players should craft this item early and give it to Kog’Maw or Twitch in the early game. If Olaf feels durable enough, he can also use the Green Bow in the later stages. If you have the Frostbite Emblem, players should aim for 7 champions and give this Emblem to Nasus as soon as possible.
