Recently, after many days of anticipation, T1’s 2023 Worlds skin officially launched on the PBE server. Of course, given the stature and significance of the championship, as well as the influence of Faker and T1 across the entire League of Legends community, it’s no surprise that the skin set quickly became a topic of discussion worldwide. As with any debate, there are varied opinions, leading to numerous arguments. However, for Korean audiences and T1 players, this skin set likely holds significant meaning as the information aligns with what T1 previously confirmed (that it would incorporate many elements of Korean culture) and is worthy of the champions’ journey to the title.

However, according to revelations from a Korean viewer watching a recent stream by Gumayusi, it was noted that Faker was the one who finalized the design (colors, effects…) for the 2023 Worlds skin line this time. Nevertheless, the T1 marksman also admitted: “Riot wanted Faker to come up with more creative recall effects, but Faker said he was out of ideas after having to design too many skins this year.”

In fact, what Gumayusi revealed is based on reality. In 2024 alone, Faker has three skins, including two Hall of Fame skins and one Worlds skin. Creating skins that each have a unique identity, while also capturing the legendary journey of Faker, makes it quite challenging to ensure each skin is different. Not to mention doing this in a short time and going through many revisions. However, from Gumayusi’s revelation, another player was “caught in the crossfire.” Specifically, that player is Chovy, who during the 2023 – 2024 season, while Chovy and Gen.G dominated the Korean League of Legends scene, has yet to receive a skin. Especially since Gen.G was eliminated early in the 2023 Worlds after losing to Bilibili Gaming.

At this point, many T1 fans are likely just waiting for the skins to appear in the official client. Meanwhile, for Chovy, he is currently on one of the strongest teams in League of Legends and perhaps, more than ever, he is eager for a Worlds championship.
