The new Hero Augment is making Yasuo a very strong carry right now.

Yasuo’s New Power

In TFT Season 8.5, Yasuo received a new Hero Augment called Wind of the Wanderer. Unlike the previous version that provided full lifesteal, the Wind of the Wanderer augment allows Yasuo’s ability to have a larger area of effect. Additionally, this skill now deals 20% more damage.

This is the key factor that makes Yasuo significantly stronger in Season 8.5, as this unit can deal area damage incredibly well. Moreover, the wider “wind chopper” ability allows Yasuo to damage the enemy’s backline. This is a crucial factor that has helped Yasuo rise to prominence at this time.

Building the Yasuo – Duelist Composition

In the early game, players need to acquire Yasuo early on to determine the direction of their composition. After that, strong Duelist champions like Fiora, Kayle, and Gangplank will be good choices at this stage. Alternatively, players can build around 3 Super Soldiers combined with Yasuo.

By the time players reach level 6, they should stop buying experience to roll the shop for a 3-star Yasuo. During this process, Fiora and Malphite are also champions that should be purchased to upgrade and increase the additional damage from the Super Soldier trait. With the 4 Duelist threshold, players can effectively maintain their health.

In the late game, players only need to add Twisted Fate, Vayne, or Nilah to the board to reach the 6 Duelist mark. This is an important power threshold that will help the carry become sturdier. If players cannot find the aforementioned units, they can activate the 2 Guardian and 2 Brawler traits with Alistar or Riven to increase durability.

As for items, Yasuo will need a Gauntlet of the Crystal and Bloodthirster to ensure damage output and sustain. The third item should be a Quicksilver to counter strong champions like Morgana and Garen. For the Hero Augment, Wind of the Wanderer should be the top priority. Additionally, augments like Brawler, Crystal Gauntlet, and Trade Zone are also great choices for this composition.

Conclusion

With the emergence of the Wind of the Wanderer augment, Yasuo has transformed and become a very strong carry at this time. If you can obtain this augment early in the game, make sure to use Yasuo as your carry to effectively climb the ranks.
