It can be said that the most popular champions in Teamfight Tactics recently are those with extremely high single-target damage like Irelia, Shaco, Darius, Jhin… There are also many champions with favored multi-target damage like Gangplank, Aurelion Sol, Vel’Koz, or Kayle,… However, in the current meta, there are many champions with powerful area skills that are not widely used.
Here is a list of champions with terrifying multi-target skills that are underutilized:
Vi
Vi is the champion with the strongest multi-target skill in both the Super Technology and Brawler traits, yet many people only see her as a tank and nothing more.
Speaking of Vi’s power, when activated with Super Technology, just giving Vi any item will allow her to overpower other champions in the early game. Therefore, even if Vi is not used in the main lineup, she remains a powerful champion to help you sustain health well. As you progress to the late game, if equipped with a few suitable items like Spear of Shojin, Hextech Gunblade, and Morello’s Evil Tome, Vi can obliterate the enemy team. Opponents will find it difficult to focus fire and take down Vi quickly due to the massive health provided by the Brawler and Super Technology traits.
Fizz
Many people often think of Fizz as an essential part of Garen (formed from Pilot). However, in the Spy champion lineup, Fizz is the champion with extremely high area damage along with powerful effects like knock-up and stun.
If equipped with a few reasonable items like Spear of Shojin, Morello’s Evil Tome, or Lightning Bow, Fizz can wipe out the entire enemy team with just one shark. Especially, these items are also very suitable for Garen, so there’s no worry about wasted equipment.
Kai’Sa
Kai’Sa is the champion with extremely high damage over time in the Spy trait, and with a relatively low maximum energy, she can freely spam skills continuously at the backline of the enemy team. Especially, this champion has multi-target damage skills, allowing Kai’Sa to combine with many items to inflict effects on enemies.
The basic items for Kai’Sa will be Archangel’s Staff and Morello’s Evil Tome. Since Kai’Sa often appears in the 4 Spy + Garen lineup, if equipped with powerful items like Bomb Demolisher – Kai’Sa can stun the entire enemy team for half of the fight duration each round, making it very strong against spell-casting champions like Vel’Koz or Miss Fortune.
Additionally, Kai’Sa also belongs to the Divine trait with the ability to deal critical damage to targets below 50% health, enabling Kai’Sa to take down enemies even before they can use any skills. For these reasons, even though Kai’Sa is just a 2-cost champion, she still has a significant impact at every stage of the match if equipped with the right items.
