Aphelios – Akshan
The greatest strength of this Marksman duo is the enormous damage they can provide to your team. Players can completely utilize 6-7 defensive units in their formation and place all the damage-dealing responsibility on Aphelios and Akshan. Not only do they share the Marksman trait, but the skill sets of these two champions combine perfectly to unleash a tremendous amount of damage.

We need to remember that Akshan’s basic attacks already have an armor reduction effect on targets. When this unit uses the Heroic Leap ability, it will attack and reduce the armor of many enemy units. This is an excellent condition for Aphelios to unleash his skills and deal a large amount of damage to your opponent’s team. Thanks to this combination, players don’t need to build a Blue Bow like other physical damage-focused formations while still having enough damage to win.

Thresh – Galio
While the previous duo provides massive damage, Thresh – Galio excels at controlling the enemy team’s carry in a very powerful way. The only weakness of Galio is that his Durand’s Shield ability sometimes does not affect distant enemy carries. In such cases, Thresh, by always targeting the furthest enemy, will pull this carry into Galio’s taunt range, significantly reducing the damage from the opponent.

Of course, to maximize the power of this duo, players need to position Thresh as strategically as possible. You need to place Thresh on the opposite side from the enemy’s carry so that this unit can pull the target that needs to be controlled. If executed well, this duo will create a significant gap for the backline carries to deal damage. As a result, a team composition that seemed to have “fallen out of favor” like Kayle – Knight can make a comeback in the meta of patch 11.17.

Nocturne – Diana
For the Assassin composition, the most frustrating thing you might encounter is that Nocturne sometimes attacks a tank or unimportant unit after jumping to the enemy’s backline. This happens because opponents often push their formation into a corner when facing an Assassin team to best protect their carries. This means that Nocturne, despite having a lot of damage, may not attack the enemy’s carry and easily lead to a loss.

In this case, Diana becomes the unit that solves this issue as her Crescent Moon ability will rearrange the enemy team’s formation. This allows Nocturne to more easily access the opponent’s carry or units with low durability. To further optimize the strength of this duo, it is recommended that players in Teamfight Tactics equip Diana with items like Trap Claw, Zeke’s Herald, and Frozen Heart, positioning her next to Nocturne.
