In Teamfight Tactics season 3, there are individuals who can carry the entire team alone, champions with the strength to elevate their faction’s position in the meta like Gangplank, Aurelion Sol, Kayle, or Jhin,… However, on the opposite side, there are also champions that are very weak, making them hard to rely on unless Riot Games makes timely adjustments.
Here is a list of the weakest links in each faction that you should not “put your trust” in using:
Yasuo

It can be said that “the one” Yasuo does not have many differences compared to season 2 of Teamfight Tactics. However, in terms of meta status, Yasuo has lost his place and is not like he was in season 2 anymore. There are many reasons for this, such as the lack of the Sand faction to help Yasuo reduce a large amount of armor from opponents, and factions like Vanguard or Guardian are too sturdy for Yasuo to be “stubborn”. Yasuo’s skill also jumps to the opponent with the most items, and because there is no longer armor penetration from Sand compared to season 2, it is very difficult to take down the target, charging into the enemy like a “moth to the flame”.
Therefore, if you cannot upgrade Yasuo to 3 stars, you should not equip items for Yasuo to use in the late game.
Leona

Basically, this champion does not have as much tanking value as other Vanguard champions. Many players believe that instead of having a damage block ability with numbers 40/80/120, Leona should have a damage reduction percentage like Alistar’s ultimate for better effectiveness.
Although they are both 1-cost champions, Poppy is preferred over Leona due to her shield creation, damage dealing, and ability to activate the Celestial faction.
Xayah

Although some players still use Xayah by leveraging attack speed with a combo of 3 Giant Slayer items to win. However, in late-game champions, Xayah has absolutely no ability to counter Kayle, Shaco, Gangplank, or any current meta carry champion. Riot Games also agrees that this champion needs a buff, so in patch 10.7, the attack speed was increased from 0.75 to 0.8, but that is still not enough to give Xayah a place in the current meta.
Therefore, not many players prefer Xayah even though she is a DPS (damage per second) champion from the 2 “standard” factions, Universe and Blademasters.
Zoe

Unlike the “cancerous” nature from the early days of her appearance in Summoner’s Rift, Zoe’s presence in Infinite Galaxy is somewhat… disappointing. The reason is that this champion has a single-target skill and her damage is too low. Moreover, Zoe also has a very high energy cost for her skills (70/100) compared to main damage dealers of Sorcerers like Ahri, Vel’Koz, Syndra (ranging from 50 to 75 energy), so Zoe cannot use many skills in team fights. Even in patch 10.7, the skill damage of Zoe was only slightly increased from 300 to 400 (3 stars), while the energy cost changed to 90/120.
The only plus point for Zoe is her ability to stun, however, Zoe’s target is the enemy with the most health, so there is no guarantee that Zoe will stun the enemy’s carry to limit their damage.
For the reasons above, most players put Zoe into the lineup merely to fulfill the numbers needed to activate Celestial and Sorcerers rather than for Zoe’s individual strength.
