Every April 1st, also known as April Fool’s Day, people come up with lies and “sneaky” actions as a fun joke. For game publishers like Riot, they go all out to the point of launching an adorable champion spotlight for Pengu and a super troll update for all their games; you can find the details HERE and HERE.

Most recently, the “North American Yasuo god” Yassuo joined in on this April Fool’s trend. However, instead of lying in a typical manner, this guy went ahead and “praised” Riot Games. And everyone knows the real meaning behind this is to throw shade at the creator of League of Legends, so Riot August, a senior member of the champion design team, half-joked and half-seriously stated that he would heavily nerf Yasuo as a form of retaliation.

Yassuo: “It seems like I might be too harsh on Riot, the client isn’t that bad, and the balancing team is doing quite well. All the newly released champions are extremely balanced and not overpowered at all.”
Riot August: “Hold on, I’m going to nerf Yasuo right now.”
Yassuo: “I’m not joking, Yasuo is actually extremely overpowered.”
Yasuo has always been a champion that frustrates players, both allies and enemies, due to his playstyle and incredibly annoying skill set. Whenever there’s a Yasuo in a match, it’s no longer a normal game; it all revolves around whether he becomes strong early or ends up being useless because of dying too much, much like a coin toss with a 50/50 chance.

It’s no surprise that across all servers worldwide, Yasuo is always on the list of the most banned champions. This champion is also extremely loved by young players in Vietnam, and hopefully, what Riot August said is just a joke for April Fool’s Day to counter Yassuo.
