To date, the game CS:GO has been around for over 7 years and is one of the most beloved FPS games in the world. Not only is it loved for its fast-paced and engaging gameplay, but CS:GO also boasts a very strong and vast esports community from various countries. When joining global players, each country’s gamers bring their own unique “specialty”. Brazilians, one of the largest gaming communities in South America, are no exception.

One of the catchphrases frequently used by the Brazilian CS:GO community is the phrase “Que Ota”. This phrase is often spammed when players or streamers pull off some miraculous play. However, while it gets spammed, not many people understand what this phrase actually means. So, what does “Que Ota” mean?

“Que Ota” originated as a meme from Brazil, one of the countries with the highest number of CS:GO players in the world. This phrase was popularized by player Lucas “LUCAS1” Teles based on the saying “Quer outra?”, which was then shortened to “Que Ota”. The meaning of this phrase is “Want another?”, which in the context of CS:GO can be interpreted as “Do you want to eat another bullet?”.

QUE OTA?

This phrase is often used whenever players use the Desert Eagle and score a headshot on their opponent with just one bullet. At this moment, “Que Ota” implies “Want to see more, fans?”

Initially, “Que Ota” was spammed by Portuguese-speaking players, but over time, it has become more popular and recognized within the global CS:GO community. Now, it has become a staple of Brazilian players every time they use the silver pistol, and whenever they rack up multiple kills at once, someone will spam the phrase “Que Ota”.
