Teamfight Tactics Season 5: A Fresh Take with Warwick 3 Rods

Warwick is a champion with an interesting skill set but often overlooked due to his low cost of only 1 gold.

Alongside metas like LeBlanc “the chain god”, Demon Gaming is dominating Teamfight Tactics Season 5, while some players tirelessly experiment with new team compositions and champions to avoid missing out on their desired picks.

Warwick returns in Season 5 with a cost of 1 gold, and his skill set no longer focuses on attack speed but rather on magic damage, making him less noticeable. However, with the Reaper and Brawler traits, Warwick’s early to mid-game is relatively smooth, offering both a certain degree of tankiness and decent damage output.

The truth is, Warwick’s damage output is not particularly significant in the late game. Not to mention, this champion lacks the necessary toughness to face off against champions like Nidalee, Aphelios, or Yasuo who have items. However, everything can change with an item that few consider: the Demonic Rod.

Specifically, with the Demonic Rod, the owner gains health equal to 250% of their maximum mana while also providing a healing effect after using a skill. This means that if Warwick possesses this item, he will be nearly invincible due to the maximum healing mechanism. Particularly, if he also carries 2 regular Rods, Warwick will gain an additional 70% ability power. In other words, Warwick with 3 Rods (1 Demonic – 2 regular) will act as an immortal damage-dealing machine, very hard to control.

Warwick 3 stars is incredibly strong with 3 Rods, including 1 Demonic Rod

However, the Tears of the Goddess item is currently very popular, so if you already have one Demonic Rod, the other 2 item slots could consider adding Infinity Edge, Bloodthirster, or Guardian Angel, which are all good options. Particularly, if possible, it’s advisable to build a Mercurial Cloak or a Demonic Mercurial Cloak, and Predator to counter the LeBlanc “the chain god” meta if you cannot acquire all 3 Rods.

Nevertheless, players need to keep in mind that Warwick is only a situational playstyle, and if you cannot achieve 3 stars, Warwick remains relatively weak compared to the overall meta. Therefore, players should think carefully since with items like Goddess’s Tear, Giant Slayer, or damage items, other champions can perform much better.
