Mystics – Ironclad
If you haven’t forgotten, about 2 weeks ago, we were still “spamming” the Vanguard – Legend composition with Neeko as the main carry at the end of Season 4. Basically, the Mystics – Ironclad composition in Teamfight Tactics Season 5 operates similarly by using defensive stats as the winning condition. With the large amount of armor and magic resistance from the 2 Mystics and Ironclad traits, the main carries of this composition will survive a long time in battles even while holding all damage-dealing items.

You will have 2 main directions to build this composition, focusing on Marksmen and Dark Mystic. If you receive many items that increase AD and attack speed, you should buy Marksman units like Vayne and Varus to hold items for Aphelios. In case you get many items that increase skill damage, investing in Lissandra as the early game carry is essential. In the late game, Kindred will play a crucial role in protecting the main carry Aphelios to deal damage.
4 Sorcerers
With Karma currently being fiercely contested, playing with 2 Sorcerers will leave players lacking in magic damage. Therefore, some experts have turned to the 4 Sorcerer composition combined with strong tank units like Nautilus, Leona, and Rell to ensure damage. This composition also has incredibly strong crowd control as Zyra’s skill always targets the furthest unit, usually the opponent’s carry.

This playstyle proves to be very effective as Viktor and Brand are both cheap but quality champions. They will provide a significant amount of damage and help players easily get through the mid-game. You can even achieve a long winning streak with these 2 champions using minimal resources, only needing 1 Rod of Ages. As for Vel’Koz, items like Archangel’s Staff, Spear of Shojin, and Hextech Gunblade are still crucial.
Divine – Marksman
With everyone switching to play Legion and Draven, Aphelios has been overlooked by many players. However, this champion is still an incredibly dominant carry and can “carry the team” if equipped with the right items. In the late game, you should buy 2 Divine champions, Ivern and Volibear, to supplement the team’s durability and crowd control. This is very important because besides Morgana, the other Divine units lack strong area control.

The weakness of this composition is that it has too many 4-cost champions, and players need to have a strong economy to complete it. Therefore, what you need to do in the early game is to build the strongest possible composition, regardless of whether those units will be in the final team comp or not. It is advisable to buy Kalista, Aatrox, and Vayne early game as they are excellent units to hold items for Aphelios. Additionally, a Morellonomicon for Morgana will be a dream start for the Divine – Marksman team.
