Mordekaiser Shines Unexpectedly in Teamfight Tactics Season 13
In version 14.24b of TFT Season 13, Riot Games made a series of adjustments to strengthen the “Fast 9” playstyle. Accordingly, several 5-cost units like Malzahar, Jayce, Rumble… have received significant buffs in terms of damage output. However, these units are only effective at softening the opposing team and are not particularly strong in eliminating enemies. At this point, many top players have experimented and discovered that Mordekaiser is the perfect addition to this weakness when equipped with damage items.

Essentially, Mordekaiser’s skill set allows this unit to deal massive area damage. However, the fact that many players equip this unit with tank items significantly limits Mordekaiser’s strength. Only when players balance the number of attack and defense items can Mordekaiser fully unleash his power and effectively “carry the team”.
Building a Mordekaiser “Fast 9” Composition in TFT Season 13
One of the prerequisites for effectively playing “Fast 9” is to have a favorable start. Therefore, players should build their early-game composition around damage-dealing and 1-cost tank units that can be upgraded to 2 stars early. Physical damage units like Maddie, Draven, and magical damage carry units like Lux, Zyra, Vex… can all be utilized at this stage.

During the mid-game, players also need to continue applying the strategy of building the strongest possible composition to maintain health effectively. High-value 3-cost units like Gangplank and Lloris will be very strong at this stage, providing a considerable amount of damage and durability. Additionally, Blitzcrank can also be utilized if players upgrade this unit to 2 stars early.

After reaching level 9, players need to use their gold to search for crucial carries like Mordekaiser and Malzahar. Jayce and LeBlanc will serve as damage-supporting units, holding extremely versatile items and helping Mordekaiser eliminate enemies faster. Moreover, high-value 4-cost units like Garen and Elise are also very strong and should be incorporated into the composition in the late game.

Some Tips When Building the Composition
One small note when building this composition is that players should stop at level 8 for about 2-3 rounds to roll for a strong enough framework. This is necessary because the experience required to level up to 9 is quite large, and if players do not have enough health, they may be eliminated before reaching this goal. Regarding items, Mordekaiser will need a Mystic Veil and Gauntlet of Power to ensure damage output and avoid being controlled. The Cloak of Shadows is also a good option as the third item to help this unit survive better.
