The Strength of Azir – Strategist
In Teamfight Tactics Season 9, the Shurima race seems to be undervalued compared to its actual strength. Therefore, core champions from Shurima like Azir and Nasus are not fiercely contested compared to Aphelios or Zeri. This quickly becomes a strength of the Azir – Strategist composition as players spend less gold to upgrade their team while still achieving significant power.

Building the Azir – Strategist Composition
At the beginning of the game, players should activate the 3 Shurima trait early with Renekton, Cassiopeia, and Taliyah. Additionally, players should place a Brawler in the front line to ensure durability for Renekton. This also creates good conditions for Cassiopeia or Taliyah to deal maximum damage.

By mid-game, players should supplement with Taric and Swain in the front line. These two champions have good durability as well as significant damage output from Swain. Additionally, Soraka is also a valuable unit that helps the composition regain energy (the Mystic trait) and survivability (Targon effect).

After that, players should regularly buy experience to reach level 8 quickly. This is a good time to use gold to acquire 4-cost core champions like Azir, Lux, and Nasus. Jarvan IV should also be used to enhance crowd control capabilities.

Regarding the Legendary choice, Ornn is extremely suitable for the Azir – Strategist composition. This composition can effectively utilize most of the strong items from Ornn to increase damage and durability. For items, Azir will need Guinsoo’s Rageblade and Archangel’s Staff to maximize damage. The Sharpshooter’s Glass (an item from Ornn) is also very suitable for Azir.
Conclusion
With its versatility in damage output, durability, and crowd control, Azir – Strategist proves to be an extremely strong composition. Given that this composition has not been significantly altered in patch 13.13, it promises to be a highly effective method for climbing ranks in the future.
