Established in 1968, Intel Corporation has undergone a journey of innovation and creativity for over 50 years with many outstanding achievements. The year 2021 marked the 50th anniversary of the launch of the Intel 4004 microprocessor, the first brick for today’s modern microprocessors. Intel’s technology has infiltrated every aspect of life, and the ultimate goal of Intel is to continue to strive to advance technology to improve the lives of everyone.

To achieve this goal, Vietnam plays an extremely important role as one of the fastest-growing countries in ASEAN in 2022, with a GDP growth rate of over 8% compared to the same period last year. The computer market in Vietnam is expected to recover in the second half of 2023. The digital transformation process of enterprises is still ongoing in the fields of finance, telecommunications, and manufacturing.

To stay ahead of this trend, Intel will introduce many new and practical products and solutions in Vietnam. The banking, telecommunications, manufacturing, education, and government project sectors will receive more attention from Intel in the coming time through solutions that meet actual needs. The corporation will also closely coordinate with partners to bring programs and events to consumers. In the short term, the IT event rated as the largest scale in Vietnam for consumers, INTEL TECH CAMP, will return this year after last year’s success with over 12,000 participants.

In the manufacturing sector, the Intel Products Vietnam (IPV) factory plays a crucial role in the IDM 2.0 strategy and the “5 years, 4 processes” announced by CEO Pat Gelsinger in 2021. With the vision of “Creating a Future for Both Intel and Vietnam,” Intel has invested a total of 1.5 billion USD in its factory in Vietnam, creating approximately 6,500 jobs in high-tech fields (including about 2,400 official personnel under Intel) and contributing 76.3 billion USD in export value from 2010 to now. In the first quarter of 2023, Intel accounted for 50% of the total export turnover of the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park (SHTP), 15% of the country’s electronic/component export turnover, and about 18% of Ho Chi Minh City’s total export turnover.

Throughout its operation until now, IPV has achieved many notable accomplishments such as shipping over 3.5 billion product units; producing the latest 13th generation Intel® Core™ processors and ready to participate in the production process of Meteor Lake processors from late 2023; supporting high-tech workforce training through the Higher Engineering Education Alliance Program (HEEAP2.0); assisting the General Department of Customs in applying e-Custom solutions, implementing continuous electronic customs data exchanges for the supply chain; the IPV factory has also received the Intel Quality Award (IQA) twice in 2016 and 2022, which is an internal award for units that represent and pioneer the values that Intel aims for; in 2017, the IPV factory was honored to receive the Third Class Labor Medal from the President of the country.

Regarding social responsibility, Intel and the Intel Foundation always aim for collaborative and innovative programs to create a positive impact on the community and the world to fulfill the commitment “Do Something Wonderful.” In Vietnam, Intel has invested about 22 million USD in programs supporting education, environment, safety, and health, including 10 billion VND to help Vietnam overcome the COVID-19 pandemic. More than 60% of the corporation’s employees are volunteers in CSR programs and have dedicated over 200,000 hours to do good for life.

Recently, IPV has also made efforts to minimize environmental impacts and work towards sustainable development. Intel’s factory in Vietnam has saved over 40 million KWH of electricity; used 2.68 million KWH of green electricity; reduced net emissions by more than 13,500 tons of carbon; treated and recycled 100% of hazardous waste; recycled 95% of waste; saved and recycled 1 million m3 of water.

With the achievements attained and the positive signals for the future, Intel Corporation will continue to make relentless efforts to bring innovations to everyone and push the limits through the power of technology!
