As of the current point in Season 5, Brawlers are considered the weakest class in Teamfight Tactics. Along with weaknesses in control and tankiness, the Brawler class also lacks a true carry. However, this has changed after some Challenger players discovered the Long Gangs – Demon God composition by stacking damage items on Sett.

Masters have discovered that when casting his ability, Sett not only deals ability damage but also directly auto-attacks all enemy champions affected. Therefore, Sett can deal incredibly strong damage when equipped with the combination of Infinity Edge and Bloodthirster (both the regular and Dark versions) with each ability cast. Combined with the plentiful units from the Long Gangs effect, you can easily upgrade this unit to 3 stars in the mid-game.

The ideal start for this composition is to activate the Long Gangs effect early with Udyr, Sett, and Ashe (or Zyra). This will help you gain dragon eggs and Long Gang units early, thus speeding up the process of upgrading Sett to 2 stars at the beginning of the game. You should also purchase Brawler units like Warwick and Gragas to add health for Sett.

By the mid-game, you should aim to complete the 4 Brawler threshold to ensure Sett has enough health. What you need to do at this stage is to roll slowly and find ways to upgrade Sett to 3 stars. During this rolling process, you can also add strong 1-star carry units like Vel’Koz and Aphelios for additional damage. Also, a Rell unit with strong shielding capability is a solid choice at level 7.

One thing you need to remember as you approach the late game is to not aim for the 5 Long Gangs threshold. While it’s true that you will have a chance to receive additional rewards, it means you have to use Udyr, a very weak unit if he can’t reach 3 stars. Attempting to go for the 5 Long Gangs threshold will only weaken your composition and lead to losses.
Therefore, players should only stop at the 3 Long Gangs threshold to make room for other powerful units in the late game. For instance, the Demon God duo of Ivern and Volibear will provide effective crowd control for your composition. Additionally, you can also add magic damage by upgrading Vel’Koz to 2 stars. If you choose to play the Marksman route with Ashe, you should buy Kindred to ensure safety for your backline.

For item building, Infinity Edge and Bloodthirster (both regular and Dark versions) will be vital items for Sett. For the third item, you can use Guardian Angel, Infinity Force, or other tank items to ensure this champion’s durability. Another note is that players should equip Iron Solari’s Cloak and Redemption for Nunu & Willump to effectively protect the frontline.

The final advice when playing this composition is to always keep Sett positioned at the farthest end of the first row. This will ensure that Sett can deal damage, even potentially “one-punching” the backline carry of the enemy team.
