Teamfight Tactics: Infinite Galaxy – Unique Item Tips to Help Players Secure the Top 1 Easily

With a plethora of brand new champions in Teamfight Tactics Season 3, players are left wondering 'what items to use for what champions'

The Green Bow is an essential item for Jhin

It seems that Riot Games has a soft spot for 4-cost champions by creating a slew of incredibly strong carries at this price point, such as Irelia, Jinx, Kayle, and of course, Jhin as well. With an extremely long attack range of 1120, equivalent to 5 tiles, along with guaranteed critical strikes from his passive, Jhin can take down even the toughest tanks, provided he is well-protected.

However, you won’t always have the time for your Jhin to eliminate opponents, and this Grim Artist can be taken down extremely quickly. Therefore, make sure to utilize Jhin’s guaranteed critical strikes with the Green Bow, as after 4 shots, his target will have 90% armor reduction from the item’s effect. If you have the Gauntlet of Duelist and Wooden Bow, don’t be tempted to combine them into Infinity Edge; switch to using the Green Bow to maximize Jhin’s damage.

The interaction of the Divine Tribe with critical items

With the appearance of the Gauntlet of Duelist, items that allow for critical hits generate significant spikes in damage, particularly the two main items: the Gemstone Gauntlet and Infinity Edge. In Season 3 of Teamfight Tactics, we have a very special tribe, the Divine, which guarantees critical hits (both from basic attacks and abilities) on targets below 50% health.

Many players do not understand the essence of critical items, which often leads to the frequent and extremely wasteful use of the Gemstone Gauntlet on Divine champions. When Divine champions already have guaranteed critical hits, adding more critical hit chance becomes meaningless. Therefore, instead of using the Gemstone Gauntlet, players should opt for Infinity Edge for a damage-dealing playstyle or direct AP items like the Sorcerer’s Hat for Divine champions, which will be more effective.

Wind Sword can counter the Super Robot

The Wind Sword is an incredibly powerful item late in the game, with the ability to disable an enemy unit, giving your team a significant advantage in winning each round. Therefore, it’s crucial to calculate how to disable the opponent’s carry when using the Wind Sword, and it would be even better if you can send the Super Robot from the Mecha tribe “to the sky,” right?

But how can you achieve that? The answer lies in your ability to practice observing your opponent and how they arrange their formations. With the Mecha tribe, when arranging your formation, a bright tile will appear on the board if the conditions for assembling the Super Robot are met; that is the tile where the Super Robot will stand at the beginning of the round. Your task is to place your unit holding the Wind Sword in such a way that it knocks the enemy’s strong unit into that tile, thus disabling and isolating a powerful enemy unit.

If possible, always use Guardian Angel for your carry

In addition to its well-known resurrection ability, the Guardian Angel has another extremely useful feature: it removes negative effects that the champion using it may receive. In Season 3, the most annoying negative effect is the energy gain reduction from the Demon, which is Ezreal’s ability, or more simply, health regeneration reduction.

Ezreal's Pulse Fire creates an extremely annoying negative effect on the entire enemy team's formation

These removed negative effects can help your formation turn the tide in many cases; just imagine if you equipped full damage items for Gangplank and Miss Fortune, only to suddenly be hit by an Ezreal’s Pulse Fire, how frustrating that would be. So, if you plan to use the two aforementioned Mercenaries, make sure to prepare a Guardian Angel in advance.
