When playing Teamfight Tactics, the most frustrating feeling for players is probably being ‘ contested’ by other players. At that point, the game is no longer about skill but completely relies on luck to see who gets the key champions first. This is happening continuously in the current meta, especially among players who frequently use the Innovator composition to climb ranks.

Therefore, Challenger players have found ways to counter this ‘ contesting’ by switching to use Kha’Zix as the main carry in the late game. The reason is that Kha’Zix is a champion that does not depend on major traits – systems (where popular compositions derive their strength), allowing players to ‘ shift strategies’ very easily. Additionally, you’ll have the advantage of retaining some strong units like Orianna, Seraphine, Jhin, which makes the process of changing compositions much smoother.
To start with this composition, you should play like a typical Innovator team with Ezreal, Singed, and Zilean. You can also choose alternative options like using Twitch, Talon combined with the 2 gold Guardian units, Darius, Poppy. Basically, you can start with any type of composition, as long as the team has a unit holding a good damage item for Kha’Zix.

In the mid-game, you need to closely observe your opponents to see what composition they intend to play. If 2 other players are also heading towards an Innovator team, you should only stick to 3 champions and choose stronger units like Leona, Senna to add to your composition. Ekko is also an extremely important unit at this stage that you should purchase as it activates quite a few traits and uses good magic items.

By the late game, you need to “spend money” at level 8 to acquire important 4 gold units like Kha’Zix, Braum, and Jhin. Orianna and Seraphine are also units that need to be bought, but they can perform well at 1 star, so their priority will be lower than the aforementioned champions. With 2 Idol traits and items like Infinity Edge, Bloodthirster, Cloak of Darkness, Kha’Zix can deal tremendous damage without fear of being taken down too quickly.

For core technology choices, upgrades that enhance the Idol trait are extremely powerful and you should take them immediately. With the core Shared Glory or Duality with Idol, your composition will have quite a few units that can deal strong damage. Additionally, cores that provide AD like Unification, Blade Refinement… are also suitable for Kha’Zix. A rather special core that players should consider is Smoke Bomb as it helps your 2 Assassin units survive much better.
Regarding items, as mentioned above, Kha’Zix needs 3 items starting from B.F. Sword including Infinity Edge, Bloodthirster, and Cloak of Darkness. Furthermore, Ekko should also be equipped with items that counter opponents like Frozen Heart, Morello’s Evil Tome, or Silence Cloak in certain cases.
