Entering the most anticipated finals of 2023 in the world of League of Legends, T1 was the clear favorite over Weibo Gaming. However, the LPL representative had a roster full of surprises, leading many fans to hope for an exciting finals. Naturally, it was understandable that the scales tipped in favor of T1, as defeating WBG would mean that Faker and his teammates would have conquered all four LPL representatives on their journey to the championship.

And in reality, things unfolded even more spectacularly than many had anticipated. There were no surprises from WBG, while T1, despite playing all three games on the Red side, completely dominated. In fact, WBG’s biggest hope – TheShy – had one of the worst performances of his career. All three games followed the same script: early game both teams were cautious => T1 accelerated => TheShy was devastated and WBG fell short. Ultimately, T1 became the reigning champions of Worlds 2023 after a convincing 3-0 victory.

Witnessing such a one-sided match in all three games, many fans expressed their “disappointment.” Many, especially neutral fans, had hoped for a more engaging match, perhaps extending to game 4 or even game 5. Yet, it seems WBG exhausted all their strength in the match against Bilibili Gaming. They allowed T1 to play their game, even though TheShy was using his signature Aatrox and Weiwei and Light had decent performances.

With this victory, T1 officially becomes the new champions of the League of Legends scene – a completely deserving accolade considering all they have gone through since Worlds 2022. The pressures, the expectations, the disappointments, and the criticisms. It’s safe to say that from Worlds 2022 to now have been a rollercoaster for the T1 stars.

This victory also grants Faker his long-desired fourth Worlds championship trophy. The tears of Keria from last year have transformed into bright smiles and a sigh of relief. T1 is 100% deserving of being champions of the League of Legends scene.
