As is the annual tradition, Riot Games makes significant changes to League of Legends at the end of each season. The upcoming 2024 season is no exception when Riot has hinted multiple times about revising the League of Legends map, particularly the Baron pit area. This makes sense as the map hasn’t undergone major changes in a long time and needs a “fresh breeze.”

However, the “fresh breeze” that Riot Games is bringing to League of Legends fans appears to have a rather “horrifying” vibe. Specifically, YouTuber Big Bad Bear recently released a video revealing the gameplay for the upcoming season of League of Legends, which features many terrifying elements. In fact, right at the beginning of the video, players are taken aback by the horror movie-like design of objectives such as the Rift Herald, Baron, and various jungle monsters.

Furthermore, this video also reveals a new type of objective resembling a Void creature located at the Baron pit. This could very well be the first objective to appear in this area for the upcoming 2024 season. They have quite a terrifying appearance and are considered a “mini” version of Baron.

Regarding the Rift Herald, it seems Riot will allow one champion to be “swallowed” by this objective in the 2024 season (similar to Tahm Kench’s ultimate). After executing a charge that deals damage to a turret, the swallowed champion will automatically escape. Riot may be looking to support split-pushing strategies with this new feature.

As for the League of Legends map, many areas are set to be altered by Riot. The Blue Buff area for the Blue team will become smaller but will have an additional path leading to the Top Lane. Meanwhile, the two turret areas in the Mid Lane and Bot Lane for the Red team seem to be more vulnerable to attacks due to a path that circles behind the players.

With the information above, players can see that the terrain and gameplay of League of Legends in the 2024 season will undergo significant changes. Hopefully, this round of adjustments from Riot will create positive effects and bring a “new life” to League of Legends in the future.
