Every victory for T1 comes with a historical milestone or record in the world of League of Legends. This is because T1 is not only one of the oldest teams in the world of League of Legends but also because they have Faker – the “record holder” and “immortal demon king” of the professional League of Legends scene. Faker’s past achievements are monumental, making it difficult for even younger players to match them. And of course, with the recent victory at Worlds 2023, Faker and T1 have shattered both his own records and those of the team in the League of Legends community.

First, there is the achievement of the T1 collective as they become the first and only team in the world of League of Legends to win Worlds 4 times. This is an achievement that can be said to be almost certain that no team will surpass. Except for T1, all 9 other teams that have won Worlds have not even managed to secure this title for a second time. If we count Gen.G, which has 2 championships from Samsung Galaxy, they still fall short of T1 by 2 championship wins.

As for Faker, he officially became the first player to achieve both unofficial personal titles: the youngest player to ever win Worlds (2013 – Faker at 17 years old) and the oldest player to ever win Worlds (2023 – Faker at 27 years old). Additionally, Faker has officially surpassed his former teammate Bengi, becoming the player with the most Worlds championships in League of Legends history with 4 titles – a remarkable achievement that perhaps only Bengi might hope to equal.

Moreover, Faker’s T1 is the first team to win after defeating all 4 representatives from the LPL in a Worlds tournament. In 2022, DRX also had the opportunity to face LPL teams, but the “Blue Dragon” only defeated 3 out of 4 representatives, including Royal Never Give Up, Top Esports, and Edward Gaming. They did not face JD Gaming as this team had been eliminated after the Semi-Finals by T1.

Additionally, on the occasion of T1’s victory, Faker and his teammates received a congratulatory letter from the President of South Korea. It can be said that even though he has won multiple times, this will be the most meaningful championship for Faker. This year, he won on home soil during his first participation in a Worlds held in the land of kimchi. Notably, T1 won amidst countless doubts after a long period of ups and downs.
