T1 still remains “perfect” in one statistic despite “narrowly winning” against DK
In the first match of the LCK 2025 playoffs, T1 overcame DK – a rival with incredibly unpredictable performance. Although the score reflects the struggle of the reigning champions, a victory is enough for T1 to complete their first mission. What stands out even more is DK’s “remarkably good” performance. However, throughout all 5 matches, even when winning, DK completely fell short against T1 in one statistic: Baron.

Specifically, in all 5 matches, DK did not secure any Baron buffs. Regardless of whether T1 was under pressure or had the advantage, the Baron buff remained well preserved by Faker and his teammates. Of course, T1 did not always capitalize on the buff, as seen in game 4 when they lost all Baron buffs, but it also shows how much T1 prioritized winning.
Moreover, this also highlights one factor: DK always aimed to secure Dragon buffs, even when it was the Wind Dragon, which they assessed as more valuable. At the same time, throughout all 5 matches, DK frequently made mistakes in the mid-game. Consequently, they were forced to trade objectives with T1 even when they had the advantage.

Both T1 and DK need to reflect
The recent match between the two teams revealed the limitations of both T1 and DK. For T1, they have not adapted quickly enough when the opponent unexpectedly changes their familiar play style. Meanwhile, DK, when having the advantage, often makes personal mistakes, leading to losing the entire match.

The opportunities for both teams are still abundant, but this should not lead to complacency. Each team participating in the playoffs desires the title and a spot at the World Championship; just one mistake could cost them the entire season.
