A Series of New Records Await T1 at Worlds 2024
As they enter Worlds 2024, T1 will certainly have a different standing compared to last year, as Faker and his teammates are the reigning champions of the tournament. Not to mention, T1 experienced a decline in both performance, skills, and teamwork during the recent Summer Split. It’s fair to say that T1 has had to strive and rely on a bit of luck to make it to Worlds 2024. However, now that they have reached the tournament, a series of major records are waiting for T1 to break and establish their position as one of the greatest rosters in League of Legends history.

First, T1 and especially Faker will solidify their status as “the team and player with the most World Championships in League of Legends history,” and it’s almost certain that no one can break this record. Next, as mentioned, the duo Gumayusi – Keria could match the achievements of the duo Bang – Wolf with two consecutive World Championships. Top Laner Zeus would also become the first Top Laner in T1’s history to win two consecutive Worlds with this team. It’s worth noting that in the past, Impact, MaRin, and Duke each only won once while wearing the T1 jersey.

Most notably, if they win Worlds 2024, T1 will be the first team to win this tournament while coming in as all four seed positions that a region can hold. Specifically, they have won as the number one seed (2015), number two seed (2016, 2023), and number three seed in the 2013 season. In 2013, although SKT T1 won the Summer Split, they lost out on Circuit Points (later changed to Championship Points), so according to Riot’s seeding, SKT T1 entered Worlds 2013 as the number three seed, behind NaJin Black Sword and Samsung Ozone.

Glory Comes with Challenges for T1
While records await T1 ahead, formidable challenges are also ready to greet the reigning champions. Other teams have identified the weaknesses that T1 has displayed over the recent period. It wouldn’t be surprising if T1’s opponents at Worlds 2024 are able to make the fans of this team sweat, or even leave the T1 stars “seething” if they perform at the level they showed during the recent Summer Split.
