In their final match of the LPL Spring 2022 before officially taking a break for the Lunar New Year, Weibo Gaming aimed for victory despite facing Victory Five, who were in good form with three consecutive wins (leading up to this match). This match also marked the reunion of two well-known close friends in the LPL, who have been through ups and downs together under the Invictus Gaming banner: TheShy and Rookie.

In the first game, V5 showcased why they had such a good record, starting with Rich securing First Blood by taking down TheShy. Angel and TheShy also underperformed in this game while SofM, playing as Trundle, was unable to turn the tide. In the bot lane, ON made mistakes that prevented Huanfeng, despite his good form, from making an impact, allowing V5 to take an early lead of 1-0.
However, in games 2 and 3, V5 did not show they were the undefeated team in the LPL Spring 2022 anymore. In those games, SofM displayed absolutely outstanding performance playing Viego (game 2) and Zed (game 3). Both champions require aggressive engagement, even initiating fights or ganks, yet SofM did not die a single time.
As for SofM’s teammates, Support ON continued to make mistakes, but his good skill execution helped WBG regain the advantage. TheShy’s Sion in game 3 was incredibly formidable, acting as a shield for teammates to secure major objectives while making it difficult for V5 to approach WBG’s carries. Meanwhile, Angel and Huanfeng consistently made decisive plays under pressure.
V5 displayed significantly poor performance, allowing WBG to dominate relatively easily, even though Karsa sacrificed all his resources in game 3 to cover all three lanes. Meanwhile, with this victory, WBG concluded their pre-Lunar New Year match series with only one loss to Bilibili Gaming. More importantly, SofM demonstrated great form, which is a very encouraging sign for WBG as they head into more important matches ahead. The “Vietnamese Jungle God” also earned MVP in both decisive games.
