Morello’s Evil Tome
It seems that after Riot’s nerf, this item is still too strong for players to assemble in every game. When combining this item with champions that have the ability to deal area magic damage, you can prevent many enemy units from healing. This is particularly important in the context where the Mage pieces remain valuable, even as the meta shifts towards reroll gameplay and people no longer invest as much gold in them.

Speaking of the reroll meta, we cannot overlook the 3-star units with high health and incredible resilience. Therefore, items that provide percentage health true damage effects, like Morello’s Evil Tome, are essential to take down these “tanky” pieces. We must remember that the Innovator team composition is still a strong team-comp, and with its great synergy with Seraphine, Morello’s Evil Tome still holds significant value in Teamfight Tactics.
Trap Claw
Although it does not provide significant offensive capabilities or defensive effects for the champion that possesses it, Trap Claw remains an item that players should assemble in the current meta. Typically, in a reroll team composition, there will only be 1-2 units that hold damage-dealing items and serve as the main damage dealers. Thus, players often tend to give all damage items to that unit, making it very easy for the main damage dealer to be taken down before they can deal enough damage.

Therefore, to ensure the highest safety for your main damage dealer, you need a Trap Claw in your composition. Remember that Blitzcrank is still present in Season 6, and helping your key unit avoid being pulled towards the enemy is essential. Whether you play an Assassin, Challenger, or Mage team, helping your main damage dealer dodge a crucial spell from the opponent can change the course of the game. After all, no one wants to invest all their gold in one main damage dealer only to watch it get taken down too early.
Chalice of Power
To put it bluntly, the Chalice of Power is arguably one of the hottest items in the recent 12.1 patch. The reason is that this item provides your team with a significant amount of ability power and helps players have an additional magic damage dealer in their composition. Not to mention, the Chalice of Power interacts exceptionally well with the strongest team composition at that time, the Innovators, as units like Orianna, Zilean, and Jayce benefit greatly from the stats it provides.

Moving to patch 12.2, the popularity of the Innovator team has decreased, but the power of the Chalice of Power has not changed much. Even though the ability power damage provided by this item has decreased, the stats it offers are still extremely substantial. Not to mention, strong reroll compositions dealing magic damage such as Swain – Invokers, Mages – Yordles… are still in the meta, so the Chalice of Power has even more opportunities to shine.
