Week 3 of the tournament will witness two challenging matches for Faker and his teammates as they face Nongshim RedForce and DWG KIA in succession. Both of these teams have undergone significant roster changes during the off-season of 2021 and are currently sitting at the top of the LCK Spring 2022 standings. Additionally, both NS and DK posed many challenges for T1 during the 2021 season, with DK even being the reigning LCK champion of 2021.

After the victory against Liiv SANDBOX, Faker had an interview regarding the upcoming opponent, NS. The match against NS will mark the second consecutive time Faker faces off against his former teammate from the 2021 season: Canna. Compared to LSB’s Clozer, Canna and Faker have fought together for many more years, and both recently attended the 2021 World Championship before Canna moved to NS.

In the post-match interview after facing LSB, Faker mentioned that his “Hide on Bush” cosplay in game 1 was actually due to his poor health at the time, and he expressed regret for not being able to perform better. Because of this, Faker faced a very tough time against his junior Clozer, who is now an opponent on the LSB side. “This time, not only did I fail to bully Clozer, but he even turned the tables on me; next time I will teach him a lesson better.” – Faker stated.
Moreover, Faker also shared that achieving 4 consecutive wins is truly an amazing feeling. In the upcoming match against Canna, Faker will force the former T1 star to “pay back” for Clozer due to being “bullied” by his junior in the match against LSB.

In the match on the afternoon of January 27, Faker will go up against Canna. Additionally, NS has other strong players like Bdd and Ghost, who are also performing well. A victory against NS will set a solid foundation for T1 to enter the major clash with DK, and especially, these two matches will serve as a true measure of the quality of Faker and his teammates’ ambitions to compete for the title in LCK Spring 2022.
