If you had to find the most successful player in the Vietnamese League of Legends (LoL) scene, SofM would definitely be the first name that comes to mind. Although his playing time in his home country was not very long, SofM is the first Vietnamese player to reach the finals of the World Championship. Moreover, in one of the two regions with the most competitive LoL environment, LPL, SofM continues to shine, boasting a large fanbase and being ranked alongside legends like TheShy, Faker, Uzi, and MadLife.
Since temporarily leaving the LPL to return home for rest, SofM has been actively following tournaments, analyzing key matches, and he is also preparing to take on the role of head coach for the Vietnamese League of Legends team at ASIAD. Recently, SofM was invited by the publisher of Naraka: Bladepoint to attend the 2nd anniversary celebration in Shanghai. This is also SofM’s favorite game alongside LoL, and he has achieved several notable results in this game’s Southeast Asian and Asian tournaments.
Notably, at the event, SofM also made statements regarding his future. Specifically, he mentioned: “I still don’t know if I will be able to compete in the LPL next year or continue streaming in Vietnam. Additionally, I enjoy playing Naraka: Bladepoint because I find it quite interesting. While I’m here, I also want to reconnect with my old friends.”
Thus, it can be said that SofM is keeping his future open and does not rule out the possibility of returning to compete in the LPL. SofM’s comments have excited many fans in China. After all, he has played a significant role in changing the face of the LPL, helping to attract a large audience from Vietnam and particularly influencing the jungle playstyle of the players there. Many of SofM’s famous playstyles are still widely applied today, such as the Kha’Zix with the Dark Harvest rune providing exceptional vision.
