On August 5th (Vietnam time), instead of focusing on the exciting clashes like the match between Gen.G Esports (Gen.G) and DWG KIA (DK), the League of Legends (LoL) community found itself dealing with more pressing issues. Specifically, severe bugs had emerged during professional matches across various regions worldwide.

Specifically, in the match between Nongshim RedForce (NS) and DRX, the champion Amumu, played by BeryL (DRX), and the champion Leona, played by SnowFlower (NS), almost resurrected immediately after being taken down. This is an extremely serious bug because when a player just gets defeated and can come back to life right away, it can completely change the course of the match.

However, there is something even more notable: this bug had appeared in another tournament, specifically the LJL Summer 2022 in Japan. In the match between DetonatioN FocusMe (DFM) and Sengoku Gaming (SG), there was also a case where the champion Poppy was resurrected immediately after being defeated but could not use her passive ability. This match had to be replayed, and the team that won was SG.
It is worth noting that before the match had to be replayed, DFM was leading by about 10,000 gold over their opponents. Thus, it can be said that the bugs in Riot’s design of League of Legends caused a top team in the LJL to suffer defeat.

Since the beginning of the 2022 season, there have been numerous instances where professional matches in top tournaments worldwide have been affected by bugs arising in the game. However, after one bug is resolved, another seems to appear. Recently, the European region banned the use of Flash due to bugs arising from this summoner spell.
As for Riot, they have yet to make any statements after the bugs in League of Legends indirectly caused a team to lose a match. However, it is certain that the publisher needs to provide an adequate explanation soon to avoid anger from the League of Legends community, especially the fans of DFM.
