Quick Interview After the Match: What Did Levi Say After GAM’s Bitter Loss to G2?

Despite the loss at MSI, GAM remains confident in their ability to make a comeback in the future.

GAM Esports Still Unable to “Break the Curse” at MSI 2025

As we know, GAM’s unfortunate defeat against G2 in the final BO5 match of the Play-In Stage has officially sent the number 1 team from VCS “to the airport”. Despite their best efforts to extend the match to the fifth game, just one small miscommunication in a team fight caused GAM’s lineup to “collapse” and lose all of their advantages.

Although this result was entirely foreseeable, losing narrowly to G2 left the Vietnamese League of Legends community feeling regretful. In reality, GAM had a real chance to advance further in this MSI. Their early exit may have been due to a lack of composure and a bit of bad luck.

Thus, GAM still has not been able to “break the curse” and advance beyond their record in international tournaments. Since placing 6th at MSI 2017, eight years have passed and GAM has yet to achieve a similar feat, let alone aim for higher positions.

On a positive note, GAM had the opportunity to “test themselves” against BLG and G2 – two very strong teams at this time. GAM’s 9th place finish will also earn them up to $100,000 in prize money. This will be a significant motivation for GAM to continue developing and gaining experience, returning even stronger in the upcoming seasons.

In a post-match share, captain Levi revealed the goals GAM is targeting in 2025. Currently, after MSI concludes, GAM will participate in three more major tournaments, including: EWC, LCP, and the World Championship. In EWC, Levi mentioned that GAM will aim for the “lowest possible round”. However, for LCP, GAM is directly targeting the championship. Going into the “big sea”, GAM hopes to achieve a top 8 finish at this year’s World Championship.

Can GAM’s “unbelievable” goal in 2025 be successful?

In reality, this is a very “reasonable” goal for GAM at this time. In EWC and the World Championship, we can see GAM competing against top teams, so creating any impression would be valuable. However, in LCP, competing fairly for the championship against strong teams from PCS and VCS is entirely possible, especially after their insane performance at MSI this year.
