GAM’s Superstar Takes Responsibility After Painful Loss to G2
As expected by a large part of the Vietnamese League of Legends community, GAM has officially bid farewell to MSI 2025 shortly after the Play-in stage. In reality, apart from the extremely tough schedule (facing both BLG and G2 in the BO5 matches during the Play-in), it is evident that GAM has not been performing at their highest level. After GAM’s defeat, their biggest superstar – Kiaya has also spoken up to take responsibility.

Accordingly, Kiaya shared: “In game 5, after some objective control situations, I stepped forward and got taken down in a regrettable manner. From there, the entire team faced many disadvantages, causing the match to not go as we hoped, both as a team and for myself. Right now, I regret the mistakes, not just in game 5 but also in many moments throughout this season. There’s nothing more I can do now, but this will be experience to prepare me for the remaining tournaments this year.”

It’s Hard to Blame GAM Entirely for This Year’s MSI Journey
Like any other defeat, the loss will be scrutinized, but in reality, GAM reaching MSI and making it to game 5 against G2 is still a significant effort. Besides the fact that the opponents also showed some complacency (like G2 in game 3), the players fought their hardest. However, against a powerhouse frequently ranking high in international tournaments like G2, winning a BO5 can be considered implausible. They weren’t unstable or had risky plays like many teams from LEC or LCS.

GAM itself has also gone through unstable phases this season and has had to frequently change personnel. The lack of stability, combined with pre-existing weaknesses, and facing too strong opponents, made GAM’s defeat predictable. The community only regrets that GAM could have done better in certain situations.
