One of the biggest issues in the current professional League of Legends system is the vast power disparity between regions. Specifically, the skill level of the LCK and LPL regions is completely superior to the rest of the world.

The number of world championship titles is the clearest evidence of this. Since 2013, no team outside of the LCK and LPL has been able to win the World Championship title.
To address this issue, Riot Games needs to overhaul the entire professional tournament system. Many Western professional League of Legends players support this opinion. Even Odoamne from Rogue suggests that Riot should eliminate MSI and organize more international tournaments similar to the World Championship.

“From both the audience’s and players’ perspectives, having only one truly exciting tournament (World Championship) is too few. I think Riot needs to change the entire system, replacing MSI with more engaging international tournaments. This would significantly strengthen all Western teams,” Odoamne shared.
Looking at other titles like VALORANT, DOTA 2, and CS:GO, they all have more international tournaments than League of Legends. This enhances the competitiveness of these games. Meanwhile, professional League of Legends is becoming a playground solely for the LCK and LPL regions.

Hopefully, Riot Games will listen to the opinions of professional players and upgrade the League of Legends tournament system. Otherwise, in a short period, teams from Europe, North America, etc., will merely serve as background for the LCK and LPL representatives.
